Great observations, Edwin. We all face crises at sometime. Some of us survive better than others.

Very true. And those who survive are, well, on the road to better selves. And those who surrender are missing out on would-be opportunities.

Precisely! Crises are exactly what strengthen all of us.

I recently wrote about Newton and the Plague, and how he had to isolate for a few years. That's when we got the universal theory of gravitation and a very good explanation of how light works. Never let a good crisis go to waste!

Exactly that's how crises harden us and make us reflect intuitively. Those who fail to isolate themselves for a few years are part of the problems we're trying to solve. I might have missed your post. I will check on that because Newton face lots of crises and would like to dig more.

Your essay reminds us, how crises, though painful, are essential for personal growth and innovation. Thanks for sharing Edwin.

Yes very essential and are tested. They make us stretch our imagination to devise novel ways of not only withstandung but confronting existential challenges. Those who surrender will be crushed to halt. Thank you @Tinashe D

Such true words; your analogies are always so poetic and true to the core, Edwin. I wrote a whole long diatribe against what I think makes minds weak in what we are teaching children, but you nailed it so well that I thought I didn't want to co-opt this essay. The roots of all human troubles, I think, seem to be tied to greed and colonization - and from that comes moral bankruptcy and weakness. Parents do their children no good to coddle and over-protect them; love is about allowing the other, even a child, enough freedom to fall and get up again and support where and when needed. Over support is as damaging as is abuse and neglect. There needs to be a thoughtful and careful balance.

Keep writing, whatever you do. We need your fine mind and keen observations, we need your heart, your voice.

I need your part on that. Your comments are deeply thoughtly and may be you can write it here. I like that part you said moral bankruptcy and weaknesses. We cannot root out unavoidable facts of life but we can only face headon and change how we view them. And it's an inculcatable issue but only for those exposed to tough conditions. And thank you for your kind kinds. I will keep writing and writing for a cause. I also have plans tied to my writing and maybe i can email you? If so, kindly tell me here.
