Thank you, Edwin. Sadly we live in a country full of small men that are afraid of a strong and intelligent woman. They were living among us but under the rocks they hid under during the Civil Rights movement. DT allowed and encouraged them to come back into the light. I am afraid for all women and all of the hard won rights we have fought for over the last 100 years. I fear DT and those that support him and the Project 2025 agenda will strip away those rights and freedoms and the US will be another autocratic government that holds women down and people of color that don’t serve those in power’s pockets. I am heartbroken for what I fear the US will become and the impact on the world.
Thank you for thinking of us and recognizing the potential we had with Kamala.
" I am afraid for all women and all of the hard won rights we have fought for over the last 100 years." You have all the rights to get worried; it's easy to destroy in a day what has been built over dozens of ages. It takes only an individual with a flawed character to do that alongside the support of the easy to sway crowd. I know the next 4 years aren't easy for the country but I hope some remnants of reasonable Ds and Rs will stand for the country from onslaught by DT. People can as well stand up and put breaks on some nasty sentiments and laws.
"the potential we had with Kamala." Whoa. I couldn't stop crying for two days, but finally stopped early this afternoon. You just set off the tears again...
Thank you for your comment. It's truly a loss but there is another chance. Nowadays it's hard defending the good for humanity; it's an ongoing process that sometimes the worst of the worst humans can snatch them. But keep the fight on.
Thank you so much for your understanding Edwin. The American populace who did NOT vote are largely responsible for throwing away our democracy. We have been shouting from the roof tops every day since June 21 that this election was our last chance to save our democracy, Both trump and vance said LIVE ON TV they intend to run as a dictatorship and still those ~!@#$%^&* didn't believe them. 'Oh, that's just trump being trump, he really doesn't mean what he says'. I hope they'll be happy as he burns our Constitution and the realize he meant when he said "vote for me this time, and you'll never have to vote again.
Thank you Edwin, for your beautiful tribute to a truly beautiful, brilliant, compassionate lady who cared for all people, everywhere, and would have made my nation great. I, along with tens of millions of other Americans, am sick at heart.
I do understand the majority of you have heartbroken not only by this election but also constant polarisation from DT and the entire R machinery that has been like a cult in the recent years. I had however hoped that Kamala Harris given her softness, humaness, integrity, and visionary, she would have been the right person to occupy WH. Unfortunately, democracy sometimes is messy and imperfect. And thank you for the pledge. You have energized my mission forward.
I do hope that this is "democracy" at work. I have very strong concern (even belief) that what is happening in our country has nothing to do with democracy, and everything to do with fascism. Thank you for your compassion. I am glad to be able to return to you as a "member". I had to stop for a while. God bless you, and may God bless your hard and truthful work.
And true and in unfortunate way, democracy has been abused and gave way to fascism. We had hope that technology would make almost everyone informed but misinformation is taking over. It's easy for people to use baseless grounds and call it democracy. I pray that you and your fellow country people continue standing up for what's right even when the fascists appear to be winning, albeit for a short time. Thank you once again
You make an excellent point: we hoped that technology would be a useful tool helping to better inform people to make wise decisions. What most of us didn't realize is that technology could also be used as a tool to spread lies faster than anyone could keep up. Technology has turned out to be like fire. We think of fire as keeping us warm. But fire can also rage out of control and burn down everything.

Well said, Edwin. Many of us here mourn the loss of our chance for a better world.
